Hydraulic Fracturing of HP HT Oil and Gas Wells

Hydrofrac is a process which initiates a small openings in the tight reservoirs. This course is speacially prepared for person those who have knowledge / understanding of design and operation of hydro fracturing jobs. Development of Deep Water Oil and Gas Field 

Development of deep water oil and gas fields are very difficult. This needs proper meticulous planning including selection of proper technology. Advanced reservoir modelling is needed to produce from this type of deepwater oil and gas reservoir i.e levies and fans.
For drilling in deep water fields various aspect of bathymetric study of sea bed , survey to be conducted for selection of types of deep water rigs and mooring pattern. Proper types of BOP , riser tensioning system , subsea well heads , design of mud matetc are also to be designed.
This course will explain the details process of sub-sea completion of deep water drilling & concept of planning , designing , operation & engagement of FPSO with a suitable mooring system/SBM types. The strength and weakness of various approaches for design flow assurance technique during flowing of sub-sea wells , perforation plan , proper selection of sand control methods and design of well completion jobs etc.
Attendees should leave the advance course with thorough understanding of suitable modes of commissioning / decommissioning of FPSO system in incremental weathers window and there after monitoring weather vanning period for recommissioning of FPSO with SBM.

Enhanced Oil Recovery
Oil exploitation process being initiated after discovery and delineation process are over.Normally the drive mechanism operating for a field decides the primary recovery process and anticipated recovery at the end of self-production period. However significant amount of oil remained unexploited after initial stage of production. It varies from 30% to 50% oil in place,which can be exploited by adopting IOR and EOR processes. Application of particular EOR depends upon the rock characteristic , fluid characteristic and interaction among themselves which is unique for individual reservoir.
Various types of EOR being screened for each field in question and suitability depends upon the success of the process in reservoir conditions. Wherein the process implementations improves sweep efficiency and thereby improve the recovery factor over and above the primary recovery. Chemical EOR methods are most prevalent and easy to identify the success in laboratory conditions. Miscible and immiscible gas injection processes, although efficient processes but however the availability of hydrocarbon gases remained a big question mark.
The applicability of Thermal EOR processes are dependent on the quality of crude and are economically a difficult option and lack in reaching good efficiencies.
Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery Process ( MEOR ), although at nascent stage is economically and technically considered as a feasible process and is still spreading its wings.
The course will take up various case studies of Indian Fields and will discuss the international scenario at present cost of crude oil.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar Vij holds Ph.D in enhanced oil recovery  and has four decades of experience in various facets of E & P industry in on-shore and offshore fields. Dr. Vij was Executive Director and Asset Manager of ONGC's Jorhat Asset and was advisor to ONGC after his superannuation in June 2017.
Dr. Vij joined ONGC as a Reservoir Engineer and worked for more than a decade at the Institute of Reservoir Studies ( ONGC - IRS ) , which is a nodal agency for spear heading EOR processes across India. Dr Vij was responsible for designing the first miscible gas process for Gandhar Field and initiated the MEOR process.
